Central Garden & Pet Co., a Walnut Creek, Calif.-based manufacturer and distributor of pet care supplies and lawn and garden products, has named Frank Palantoni executive vice president and president of its pet segment, effective Monday, Feb. 14, 2011.
In his new position, Palantoni will play a senior management role at Central and lead the company's pet product division, which includes Kaytee, Super Pet and Zilla brands. He will report to William Brown, Central’s chairman and CEO.
“Frank represents an important addition to our senior management team,” Brown said. “His leadership skills will help us effectively implement our growth plan and business strategies, and his broad and deep experience with branded consumer products will help us continue to strengthen our relationship with the consumer and our retail partners.”
Palantoni had served as CEO of P3 Capital Management LLC, an advisory and private equity firm specializing in consumer goods acquisitions, since 2006. He brings 19 years of general management experience to Central.
