PetFoodDirect.com, a unit of Plymouth Meeting, Pa.-based Pet360, launched its PFD Rewards loyalty program, based on San Francisco-based 500friends’ LoyaltyPlus marketing platform, in which it will offer customers rewards for pet product purchases and referrals.
“In order to show our customers how they’re appreciated, we wanted to make their shopping experience more fun and engaging rather than transactional,” said Rose Hamilton, CMO of PetFoodDirect. “With PFD Rewards, we’re able to provide our customers additional value while also giving them an opportunity to give back to the community.”
Potential rewards include pet food donations to animal shelters, discounts on future purchases and advice from sister site’s PetMD.com veterinarians.
In addition to earning one point for every dollar spent on the site, online shoppers earn 15 points for enrolling in the program and incentive for scheduling repeat delivery with the site’s Auto Ship program.
In turn, the initial rewards begin at one shelter meal for 150 points, a free PetMD question (usually $11.99) for 1,000 points, $5 off a pet toy or treat for 1,500 points and $30 off an order of $125 or more for 1,800 points.
