Hill’s to Spread Nutritional Message through Increased Sales Force

Posted: Feb.3, 2012, 5:00 p.m. EST

Hill’s Pet Nutrition is expanding its sales force and partnering with distribution companies throughout the U.S. to create a network of 1,200 representatives who will call on 22,000 veterinary hospitals and clinics in the U.S. to promote “nutritional recommendations” as the fifth vital assessment in pet healthcare.

The visits are intended to help increase the focus on nutritional recommendations during veterinary clinical visits, producing a positive impact on pets’ health and well being while improving veterinary practice health, according to Hill’s U.S. president Kostas Kontopanos.

The companies Hill’s is partnering with for the promotion include Butler Schein Animal Health, Webster Veterinary, MWI Veterinary Supply and Merritt Veterinary Supplies. Hill’s plans to begin the hospital and clinic visits in April.
