PATS Sandown 2012, a two-day pet trade show held in Surrey, England, this week, attracted 1,708 pet retail visitors, up 13.5 percent over last year’s event and double the attendance of the event's debut in 2009.
“The pet trade has supported PATS from the outset and this year we have delivered a show that’s increased in size and with double the number of visitors since we started out,” said Annie Dyke, co-organizer with Gordon Thomas of the event. “PATS is designed for the trade, in consultation with the trade and improving with feedback from the trade; and we want to thank everyone who exhibited and everyone who visited for coming together and showing once again what the pet trade can achieve when it is united, working together and determined to succeed.”
Spike’s World took top bird product honors at PATS Sandown 2012 with its agility products for chickens.
A highlight of the show was when organizers unveiled its Retailers’ Choice Showcase Products of the Year Awards in eight categories, with Bedford, England-based distributor ALF Ltd. representing winners in the dog and cat product categories
ALF represented Colorado Springs, Colo.-based K&H Manufacturing LLC and its Heated Kitty Kabin heated bed and UK-based Billy and Margot Nutritious Iced Treats dog treats.
