As a Purina Mills dealer, I must say that I disagree completely with Purina Mills decision to sell their product to Wal-mart. For years longer than most of us have been alive, Purina Mills has been a quality focused company. As anyone knows. Quantity not quality has become the mark of this retail giant. Maybe if Mr. Sam was still alive there would be a place for Purina Mills, as then there was also a place for the American dream. It seems to be that dollar signs drive us these days and truth, loyalty, honor, and patriotism has become a thing of the past. I am mad. I am frustrated. I don't know how to compete with these millions of dollars so easily thrown around by corporate conglomerates. Overall, I am a sad owner of Purina Mills today. For so long, I could say I was proud that you would not be able to find "our" Purina products in a big box store. Today for me..... is sad. Truly, maybe, the beginning of the downfall of a very old, prestigious company. Maybe some day soon we will be able to consult our local Wal-mart associate for matters concerning our horse and cattle, or even primates or crocodiles. With a foot in the door... the stomach turning future is a scary scary thing.
Sincerely, a still very proud dealer/owner and consumer of Purina Mills.
