Cousteau, who is working on a documentary about the effects of the 2010 gulf oil spill, is one of 25 speakers scheduled for the conference. Another is German aquarist Hans-Werner Balling, who created the Balling Method of maintaining calcium and alkalinity levels in reef aquaria. He will give two presentations.
The Marine Aquarium Conference of North America is the United States' oldest educational conference and trade show dedicated to marine and reef aquarium keeping. The 2013 host city and club will be announced in Dallas.
Organizers reported that aquarium hobby suppliers have reserved nearly 200 vendor booths in Dallas. Vendors will display the latest aquarium equipment along with marine fish, corals and invertebrates for show or sale.
