NexPet, a co-op of more than 575 independent pet and pet supply retailers, scheduled its 8th National Convention and Manufacturer Mini Show at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., on Feb. 19, 2013—one day prior to the start of the 2013 Global Pet Expo.
The one-day event features retailing expert Bob Negen of Whizbang! Training of Grand Haven, Mich., who will deliver two presentations to member attendees: “Marketing Ideas That Will Explode Your Sales” and “Finding, Hiring and Training a Team of Retail Superstars.”
NexPet will hold its national convention the day before Global Pet Expo 2013.
Also on tap are Roundtables where NexPet members can break into smaller groups to discuss new ideas and strategies. Two of the four topics are “Growing Sales & Margins in Dog & Cat” and “Aquatics: Coping with Internet Competition & Other Success Tips.”
The rest of the day will be devoted to a mini tradeshow only open to NexPet retailers and vendors. The co-op, headquartered in New York City, expects at least 175 independent pet retailers to provide a captive audience for vendors to do business with.
Co-op members will receive a six-month free membership to NexPet if they attend the entire program.
This is the first time NexPet will hold its national convention in conjunction with Global Pet Expo. The national pet industry trade show is scheduled for Feb. 20 to 22, 2013, in Orlando at the Orange Counrty Convention Center.
