PetSafe’s third annual Bark for Your Park contest kicks off today, offering $200,000 in prize money for the development of off-leash dog parks in five U.S. cities.
Nominations are being accepted and voting conducted through May 31 at www.petsafe.net. Fifteen finalists will be chosen June 5.
The winners, selected after additional voting at www.petsafe.net and on the PetSafe Facebook page, will be announced July 31.
One U.S. city will receive a $100,000 grand prize good for the construction or renovation of a dog park.

Four runners-up, including the city with the highest percentage of votes per capita, will receive $25,000 each to put toward local dog park plans.
The 2012 winner was Texarkana
, Ark., which received $100,000 after collecting the most votes of the 15 finalist cities.
