The Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council has launched a retooled, advocacy-based website, PIJAC.org, serving the industry and pet owners.
The interactive site is designed to give users a greater voice on legislative issues involving pet businesses, pet ownership or pets.
"Our new website is a strong advocacy tool highlighting issues requiring immediate industry action,” said Mike Canning, president and CEO of the Washington, D.C.-based organization.
The new PIJAC website is designed to help people keep up with pet issues across the U.S.
The website, announced May 9, is designed to raise awareness about important issues as they evolve and encourage pet owners and the industry to become involved in issues, legislation and PIJAC
New features include:
• Highlighted action items.
• A legislative map that reveals current pet-related legislation
for any selected state.
• Enhanced search features.
• PIJAC blog.
• A new program, The Pet Effect, which highlights socially responsible pet companies.
"The new PIJAC website ensures that the industry has a say in its future,” Canning said.
"Designed by the top advocacy website designer in Washington, D.C., the new PIJAC website will engage our members and the industry to proactively address the issues that affect their bottom line with legislators around the country,” Canning added.
Industry Professional Site: Comments from non-industry professionals will be removed.
