The U.S. government may be shut down, but Fluval’s new website, a year in the making, is open for business. The online portal—FluvalAquatics.com—officially began accepting visitors Sept. 27.
The Montreal-based aquarium equipment brand and parent company Rolf C. Hagen began developing the site in October 2012. A 20-person team accrued more than 20,000 hours to ensure the website not only attracts visitors but keeps them.
The company is predicting FluvalAquatics.com will become a top online destination for aquatic hobbyists worldwide.
How-to videos assist hobbyists with many aspects of fishkeeping.
"Putting together a website of this magnitude in less than one year was a real challenge,” said James Braditsch, senior marketing manager for Fluval
The site includes:
• A complete, detailed showcase of Fluval’s freshwater, marine and lifestyle products.
• The brand’s ever-expanding video library. The Fluval TV section features 24 videos, including many how-to pieces on fish nutrition and the use of Fluval products.
• A 40-page step-by-step guide to setting up an aquarium.
One of the most anticipated sections contains a 30-minute video and an interactive journal of Fluval’s expedition to Colombia in 2013. The online account offers photographs and footage of a new species of pike cichlid
discovered during a stopover at Cano Mayoragua River.
FluvalAquatics.com visitors may register to receive the Fluval
newsletter, which delivers an inside scoop on product releases, promotions and other company news.
"It was certainly worth all the time and effort ... as we can bring our product innovations, design and customer service to our fans in a new and exciting way,” Braditsch said.
Fluval is a brand of pet products maker Rolf C. Hagen.
