Pet Sitters International is taking "out with the old, in with the new” to heart, as the 7,000-member association heads into 2014 by making major changes to its annual conference, including a new name, new logo and an refocused mission.
The King, N.C.-based association’s annual conference—formerly PSI’s Quest for Excellence Convention—is now called Pet Sitter World Educational Conference and Expo.
The 2014 event will take place Sept. 12 -15 in Indianapolis, Ind.
"With this most recent change, PSI has revamped its annual conference to ensure professional pet sitters have access to the education and networking they need to thrive in the rapidly growing pet-sitting industry,” said Patti J. Moran, PSI founder and president.
PSI is making major changes to its annual conference.
In keeping with its goal to focus more on education, the 2014 conference will emphasize:
• Face-to-face community building opportunities
• The latest in pet-sitting industry research
• Pet-sitter best businesses practices and up-to-date pet health and pet care information
Some of the topics scheduled for the 2014 conference include geriatric pet care, pet loss and grief counseling, and canine and feline behavior.
Attendees also will be able to partake in workshops on pet-sitting business issues, such as online marketing, staffing and expanding service offerings.
The new format will include a mix of general sessions, panel discussions, breakout sessions and optional workshops, as well as an expanded exhibitor’s area.
Registration for PSI’s 2014 Pet Sitter World Educational Conference and Expo is now open at PetSit.com/2014-Pet-Sitter-World.
