| Halo, Purely for Pets has named Steve Marton its new chief executive officer. |
Two weeks after its majority owner Pegasus Capital Advisors brought former Hill’s president Steve Marton as an operating advisor, Los Angeles-based Halo, Purely for Pets named Marton its new chief executive officer.
As such, Marton will provide strategic direction for Halo and oversee its operations.
“I was drawn to Halo by both the company’s 20-year tradition of producing the highest-quality natural pet products and by the impressive progress the company has made in the last few months,” Marton said. “The growth in sales has been tremendous. All this, plus the new partnership with Ellen DeGeneres creates a fascinating and compelling opportunity for me.”
Early this year, the celebrity bought a reported 15-percent stake in the company.
When appointed an operating advisor to New York-based equity group Pegasus, Marton said “This firm’s operating model will enable me to provide advice on acquisitions and work directly with a number of the firm’s portfolio companies where my experience can be of value.”
Marton served as president and chief operating officer of Hill’s Pet Nutrition for five years, during which time the company launched Science Diet Nature’s Best and Science Diet Advanced Care. He also served as vice president and managing director of Hill’s Pet Nutrition in Europe, where he helped expand sales to 28 European countries. <HOME>
