Newly formed association PetQuip—the International Trade Association of Pet Equipment Suppliers—is offering a range of export services to buyers and exporters at Glee Petindex Sept. 17-19 in Birmingham, England.
Glee has been attracting increasing numbers of overseas buyers and the International Buyers’ Centre at the show will be expanded to also handle overseas buyers of pet products, representatives of PetQuip said.
“Petindex provides us with the first major opportunity of meeting with potential PetQuip member companies since the association was launched in May this year,” said Amanda Sizer, PetQip director.
Among services to be provided at the center are information on product innovations, help with sourcing new products and advice on the practical aspects of exporting and shipping. Interpreter services, free show catalogs, Internet access, refreshments and cloakroom facilities are also available to buyers.
The International Buyers’ Centre is manned by The Federation of Garden and Leisure Manufacturers, which launched PetQuip as a division.
To aid international pet product buyers, the center has been moved this year to a larger stand in Hall 4, which is adjacent to the Petindex sector of the show, PetQuip said.
The centre is supported by United Kingdom’s Trade and Investment, which has invited buying groups from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, France, Norway, Romania, Sweden and Switzerland to the show.
PetQuip members qualify for a discount on Glee 2007 booth space.
