This company bills itself as the retailer’s one-stop shopping source for luxury pet products.

Ever wish you could order all the pet products you’re looking for from one place, rather than having to order from individual manufacturers? 

DigPets, based in Tampa Bay, Fla., says it’s a retailer’s one-stop shopping source for luxury pet products. This wholesale luxury pet product distributor deals with high-end pet products, including collars, treats, toys, leads, beds, shampoos and accessories. DigPets started in January 2008 and is already distributing 6,000 products from 20 of the industry’s leading luxury pet brand manufacturers. DigPets stocks the inventory, packs the order and ships it with the retailer paying only one shipping charge and no handling fees.

“There’s really nobody else doing what we do,” says Andrew Kroll, president and founder of DigPets. “We purchase products from vendors and stock products enabling retailers to order directly from us.” 

Kroll has been in the wholesale industry for 20 years and came out of retirement after four years when he discovered a niche market in the pet industry. DigPets was created five months ago with the same business model Kroll used on his other wholesale companies.

“We’ve always been wholesale distributors to a niche market,” he says. “But the pet industry is a new market that wasn’t around 20 years ago.”

DigPets stocks and ships products nationwide and internationally from its own fully-staffed warehouse. This allows for complete control of shipment orders, enabling DigPets to keep retailers informed as to when and what is being shipped. And, since there is no minimum order, retailers can get any one item they need without having to order massive case quantities. 

“People understand what we’re trying to do and have accepted us as a distributor for their pet products,” Kroll says.

In addition, DigPets doesn’t compete with manufacturers on products.

“We don’t have our own product line that we try to sell,” he says. “We distribute products, some that you can’t even find in stores.”

Overall, DigPets brings three things to the retailer: no minimum order size, combined shipment resulting in one cost, and reduced costs at or below factory cost. 

Kroll says DigPets’ main emphasis is getting the right product from the manufacturer for the retailer.

“With the economy being in a flux, it’s the perfect time for retailers to use us as a distributor,” he says. “Retailers buy what they need with no minimum and with only one shipping cost.” <HOME>
