“Edogz.com is the Internet’s K-9 yellow pages,” says Wendy Supino, chief executive officer of Edogz.com. “It’s for whatever people are searching for that is K-9 related, whether it’s a local veterinarian or products.”

Supino spent more than one year attending trade shows and researching the dog industry in addition to Internet trends. She wanted to take her passion for dogs and her interest in the pet industry and merge the two online.

“I envisioned a way for people [in the dog industry] to find each other nationally and internationally,” she says. “I was trying to find a niche of what wasn’t there yet.”

In May 2004, Supino saw her vision go live. 

Edogz.com offers consumer and business searching options. The site has been designed to save visitors’ time and energy. They go to one site and find all the information they need, whether it’s a product, event or person in the pet industry.

In addition to being a source to all canine lovers, Supino looks at Edogz.com as a place for those in the industry without a website to have their own identity on the Internet.

“On Edogz.com, people can make announcements, upload photos and connect with others in the industry,” she says. “People have a tool out there to promote themselves.”

The idea behind Edogz.com is to offer an affordable source for people in the dog world to find each other. Supino says there wasn’t a place on the Internet where people could access this type of information until now.

There are currently 115 categories available, including transportation, veterinary care, associations and dog shows.

“I’m not a competitor to anyone, and that’s a great thing,” Supino says. “My goal is to help everyone in the industry since we’re out there to help each other.”

When visiting Edogz.com, you’ll see Digz and Darbz, characters of the award-winning plush companion line, Stuff N Sniff.

The Digz character was initially developed as a mascot for Edogz.com, but now stands on its own as the award-winning separation anxiety pal for canines.

“Without Edogz.com, Stuff N Sniff would never have come around,” Supino says.

While Edgoz.com is geared toward dog lovers and everyone in the dog industry, cat lovers will soon enjoy the same benefits with Ecatz.com, which joins the World Wide Web in 2009.

“I believe Edogz.com will be the Google search engine for the dog industry,” Supino says. “Edogz isn’t going to go anywhere but up.” <HOME>
