Kool Tees offers a variety of stylish tees for small and large dogs.

Stylish tees are no longer just for adults, as Kool Tees creates trends and styles for canines.

T-shirts, sleeveless tees and sweatshirts are available for your four-legged friend whether the dog is 4 pounds or 70 pounds. Kool Tees also offers matching outfits so pet and owner can flaunt their fashion trends together. 

“Matching tees was one of the original things we did going into the pet business,” says Steve Reider, president of Kool Tees.

Kool Tees, based in Deer Park, N.Y., has been around for 25 years, but the pet division started in 2000.

Reider says for a lot of people, their dogs are like their children.

“I felt it was an up-and-coming category,” Reider says. “We started right before the explosion of the pet industry.”

While Kool Tees initially sold pet tees for small dogs, it now offers sizes up to double XL, which can fit a Labrador retriever. You can find a dog tee size specs sheet on the Kool Tees website.

“The tees are more popular among smaller dogs, but they’re equal between male and female,” he says.

Kool Tees distributes nationally and internationally, and while the U.S. is the predominant area of all sales, the Caribbean is also big.

“Everyone is trying to get into the pet industry in one way or another,” Reider says. 

Many of the slogans on the tees are original designs but a lot of customers phone in ideas.

“Stud Muffin” and “Chick Magnet” are the two top-selling tees for male dogs while “Priceless Princess” and “I am the grandchild” are the top-selling tees for females.

Kool Tees recently developed a floor spinner rack for stores to display all the tees.

“We sell to so many types of stores, not just pet, and people don’t know how to display them,” Reider says.

The spinner racks have opened up a lot of new territory for the sale of Kool Tees.

“Nobody can touch us quality-wise and price-wise,” Reider says. “The sayings are great and the quality is incredible.” <HOME>
