Founded by brother duo, Ty and Leroy Zeigler, Zeigler Brothers
was established out of a local need for animal feed more than 70 years ago. Zeigler is now a recognized leader in animal and fish diets for zoos, aquariums and aquaculture.
For more than 30 years, Zeigler Brothers, based in Gardners, Pa., has worked with zoos and breeders to develop diets that provide the highest level of health, performance and appearance in animals. Many bird, reptile and zoo diets were developed in conjunction with research and feeding trials at various breeding and zoological facilities in the U.S. and Central America. Furthermore, aquatic diets have been used and tested at commercial aquaculture facilities around the world.
“We’re all feed,” says Tim Zeigler, vice president of sales and marketing. “We know that what’s in the can is the best [food] animals can get. Diets have been formulated and tested to meet specific needs offering the most complete nutrition.”
Zeigler Brothers has been a family-owned company for three generations, providing highly-digestible animal diets complete with natural ingredients. The strength at the company currently lies with the aquatic diets.

“We’ve focused on aquatic diets and have worked with many aqua culturists to develop appropriate ones,” Zeigler says. “We’ve taken the best diet from the aquaculture side and catered it to the retail market.”
Zeigler continues to develop new diets, including the Vitality Pak (Vpak) supplement, which helps with an animal’s immune system. This all-natural, nutritional feed additive contains no antibiotics and is designed to improve the overall health of animals, including resistance to disease. Vpak is currently incorporated into Zeigler’s larval and starter diets for shrimp and fish and can be included in any of the diets they formulate.
The company currently manufactures more than 300 products and exports to more than 50 countries worldwide. In addition to its numerous diets, Zeigler Brothers specializes in formulating custom diets for animal owners under a private label.
“In terms of growth and overall aquatic growth, our feeds perform well and have less disease conditions than other feeds out there,” Zeigler says. <HOME>
