Bart Schillaci, president of The Bramton Co. in Irving, Texas, succumbed to cancer last Thursday.
"For 21 years, Bart has led our company with spark, persistent optimism, consummate salesmanship and graciousness," read a company statement. "The quality and loyalty of our associates, and the meaningful relationships he has built throughout the industry, serve as a living legacy to Bart's greatness."
Bramton named Roger Morgan its president and chief executive officer following Schillaci's death. Morgan had joined Bramton a few years ago and had been selected and groomed by Schillaci as his sucessor. Morgan had already assumed most of Schillaci's responsibilities as part of the transition plan.
Schillaci was survived by his wife and three children. A memorial service for him was held Monday in Dallas.
In lieu of flowers, the Shillaci family has asked that donations be made in his honor to The Edna Gladney Center for Adoption (www.gladneyfund.org).
Schillaci served as APPMA’s president from 1997-1999.
