United Industries Corp. of St. Louis, better known as Spectrum Brands, divided its company into three operating groups and added a new face to the business.
“Our new three-division structure, with each operating group led by an extremely talented president, enhances Spectrum Brands’ focus on each business unit, resulting in greater dedication to each of our customers within diverse industries and distinct geographies,” said Bob Caulk, chairman and chief executive officer.
Stephen L. Tooker joins the company as president of the home and garden division. Formerly, Tooker was senior vice president and general manager for the personal care division of The Dial Corp.
“Steve is a seasoned leader who brings to Spectrum Brands broad experience across a wide variety of consumer categories,” said Caulk. “He has consistently delivered outstanding results throughout his career spanning fiscal growth, new product development, consumer marketing, and process improvement. Such expertise will most certainly result in exponential growth for our core home and garden products.”
The Canada Division is comprised of The Nu-Gro Corp., a lawn and garden products manufacturer the company acquired in May. John Hill, former chief executive officer of Nu-Gro, leads the division.
United Pet Group, which the company acquired in August, makes up the Pet Division. United Pet’s former chief executive officer, John Heil, is president of the division.
