Hagen (USA) Corp.'s Living World small mammal food line now includes Timothy Toppings, a blend of fruits, vegetables or flowers and herbs designed to provide excellent sources of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants to small animal diets, the company reports. The base is sun-cured, high-fiber timothy hay taken from the second cutting, which produces a softer, finer stem and higher leaf-to-stem ratio, the company states. Flavor blends include Fruits (dehydrated banana, raisins, cranberry, apples, papaya and pineapple), Vegetables (carrots, split green peas and freeze-dried corn, and Flowers & Herbs (aromatic chamomile flowers, alfalfa meal, calendula flowers, raspberry leaf and other herbs and flowers). The resealable bag has a UV filter to help preserve the hay's natural green color and retain vitamin and mineral potency, the company adds.
