Portland Pet Food Co. (PPFC) has added Nadine Johnson and John Cariglio to its senior management team. Following a year of rapid growth and international expansion, they will both work to grow PPFC’s fiscal management and national sales efforts critical to continued strategic growth in 2021, officials said in a statement.

Johnson joins the team as director of finance and will oversee financial operations while expanding the company’s reporting systems. Prior to joining PPFC, she spent 25 years providing financial and accounting expertise to leadership teams across a variety of industries. She also has experience founding and managing a manufacturing company in the food and beverage industry for seven years.

“I am thrilled to welcome Nadine to the Portland Pet Food team,” said Katie McCarron, founder of the Portland, Ore.-based company. “Nadine is extremely accomplished in her field, including experience working with food and beverage. She will be a major asset to us as we continue to grow and expand.”

Cariglio joins PPFC as national sales manager and will be implementing strategic and continued growth with a multi-channel focus, including pet specialty and national grocery. He brings 29 years of experience working with pet food manufacturers, including The Nutro Co., which was acquired by Mars Petcare, Weruva and most recently, Northwest Naturals.

“I’ve had the pleasure of knowing John for several years and have always valued his sales professionalism and experience,” McCarron said. “He is the perfect fit for our team, and I am confident that he’ll take us to the next level of sales across the U.S. and internationally.”

Shortly before hiring Johnson and Cariglio, PPFC more than doubled its number of employees in 2020 to support unprecedented growth, officials said.
