Project Blu, a sustainable brand that offers upcycled and recycled pet beds and vegan leather pet accessories, has launched the #EarthsBestFriend Cleanup Challenge. The campaign, which is in partnership with @DogsofInstagram, aims to bring awareness to the best practices for reducing waste.
Running now through May 22, pet enthusiasts are encouraged to visit parks, beaches, hiking trails, etc. and clean them up. To participate, pet owners can snap a photo or video of them hitting the trail with their pet and upload it to www.DogsOf.com.
Prize packages will include two winners selected at random during the challenge period, officials said. The first winner will be selected and announced on May 1, the second winner will be selected and announced on May 12, and the grand prize winner will be chosen and announced on May 23. The grand prize winner will receive $1,500 worth of products from sustainable brands, according to officials.
Additionally, @DogsofInstagram and Project Blu will be planting a tree for every entry received during this campaign, up to $5,000 in donations, officials reported. They will be making the donation through One Tree Planted.
Founded by Geryn Evans, Project Blu’s carbon neutral, holistic business model aims to inspire and educate consumers about the dangers of plastic, polyester and remnants of the fast-fashion industry while also giving back, according officials. The company is based in Britain with manufacturing capabilities in Tuscany, Italy.
